Barry Cappello, managing partner with the Santa Barbara law firm Cappello & Noël LLP, was named one of the “Top 100 Lawyers” in California in 2020 by the Los Angeles/ San Francisco Daily Journal. Cappello was selected from the over 190,000 attorneys actively practicing law in California.

The list of top attorneys appeared in the September 16 issue of the Daily Journal, California’s largest legal daily newspaper.

“Out of the 100 attorneys who were acknowledged, nearly all practice in large cities where it’s easier to get noticed,” says Leila Noël, Cappello’s legal partner. “Years ago, Barry decided to open his practice along the Central Coast. He’s gone up against some the largest banks, corporations and government entities in court and earned sizeable victories on behalf of his clients. His reputation for successfully representing individuals and small businesses against giant corporations and lending institutions is known nationwide.”

Cappello has obtained verdicts and settlements in excess of $1 billion dollars. Currently, he is lead trial counsel in multiple class action lawsuits filed against Plains All American regarding the 2015 pipeline rupture and resulting oil spill along the Santa Barbara County coast. Cappello & Noël, Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, Keller Rohrback LLP and Audet & Partners are jointly representing the plaintiffs.
