A Product Liability and Wrongful Death lawsuit was filed against Toyota in the death of a woman from Buellton.

In December of 2013 Linda Wall, 68, was killed when she was rear-ended on Highway 246 near Casino Drive in Santa Ynez. Wall then hit the car in front of her.

The lawsuit claims the seat of her Toyota Highlander was defective.

It says the impact forced Wall toward the back of her vehicle, past the fully reclined headrest and she hit her head on the back seat. Wall died at the hospital from head and neck injuries.

The woman who hit Wall, Rebecca Sandoval, 37, was charged with murder, felony manslaughter, and DUI. She is due back in court on January 14, 2015.

Linda Wall was a retired teacher from Santa Ynez Valley Union High School.
